Q&A: Product Recall

Which product is being recalled?

The St Pierre 6 pack Pains au Chocolat with a best before date of 17/09/23, 25/09/23 and 01/10/23 are the product affected by this recall

What does a recall mean?

Product recalls happen if, for any reason, a product makes it onto store shelves, or customers’ homes without being up to the high standards upon which we pride ourselves. It is very rare that we would recall a product but on this occasion, we have decided a full recall is the best course of action.

Why are you recalling the product?

We have identified a food quality issue on these products which means that mould could be present. Whilst it does not represent a food safety issue, it does not represent the quality of St Pierre products and has therefore instigated a product recall.

How will I know if my product is affected?

We have carried out a thorough investigation and are confident that the only products affected are those detailed in the table above. Check the barcode on your product and the best before date. If these details match, then your product is subject to the recall.

Does this represent a safety risk to consumers?

No, this does not represent a safety risk. The recall is a food quality issue. We have identified that the products listed above have a potential mould contamination issue. However, this does not present a risk to most consumers, it simply means we are not satisfied with the quality of the products listed above.

Will I be refunded?

If your product barcode and best before date matches the details provided, you can take it back to the store you bought it from and receive a full refund. You won’t need a receipt in order to claim your money back.

If you’re a retailer or food service operator, you’ll need to contact your wholesaler or alternatively, email us directly via enquiries@stpierregroupe.com

We have identified the affected products and we are taking all necessary steps and following Food Standards Agency procedures to ensure that any risk from this recall is minimised and a thorough investigation is carried out to ensure it will not happen again.
