UK BBQ Weather Grilling Hotspots Revealed
“Brits will grill through drizzle, wind and even storms. Explore the UK's BBQ hotspots and discover what really signals the start of BBQ season.”
The UK’s BBQ Spirit Is Stronger Than the Forecast
When it comes to UK BBQ weather grilling hotspots, Brits are proving that a little bad weather won’t stand in the way of a great BBQ. New research commissioned by St Pierre found that 21% of adults would happily fire up the grill even when temperatures are in single figures, while half say they’ve never cancelled a BBQ because of bad weather.
For many households, BBQs are about far more than sunshine. They’re a chance to gather friends and family, enjoy great food and make the most of longer evenings. In fact, 48% of Brits say BBQ culture plays an important role in their enjoyment of summer, showing just how closely grilling and summertime go hand in hand.

Rain? Wind? Bring It On
The research suggests that it takes far more than a passing shower to stop Britain’s BBQ enthusiasts. While some would call it off at the first sign of drizzle, 26% believe that if you can see through the rain, you can grill through the rain.
Even more impressively, 45% would continue cooking despite thunder, while a third would keep the BBQ going during a storm. It perhaps explains why 67% say they wouldn’t give up until conditions became severe enough to threaten their gazebo.
That determination reflects a uniquely British attitude to summer. The smell of grilling, the anticipation of a great meal and the prospect of spending time outdoors often outweigh whatever the forecast has planned.
BBQ Season Starts Earlier Than You Think
There may be endless debate about when BBQ season officially begins, but many Brits already have their answer. The research found that 28% believe May is the right time to light the grill, while another 24% wait until June.
The smell of grilling is also a powerful seasonal signal, with 58% saying it’s one of the first signs that summer has arrived. And it’s not just about sticking to the classics. Half of Brits say they are keen to try new or unusual BBQ foods this summer, while 22% are already planning menus and preparing ingredients in advance.
Whether you’re serving classic burgers, loaded hot dogs or experimenting with something different, the right brioche can help elevate the occasion. Soft, golden and lightly sweet, St Pierre brioche buns and rolls are designed to upgrade everyday BBQ favourites and bring a touch of French-inspired indulgence to every gathering.
Because when friends and family are together and the grill is hot, a little drizzle is simply part of the experience.
